My new year’s resolution: living well with less…
To most, their new year’s resolution means its for dissolution… eventually. Its the same case to me, but since I adapted a new mantra for this year, the “I CAN DO IT!” mantra, I think this year will be different.
So to inspire and drive myself, the theme of my new year’s resolutions is “living well with less…”:
1. Living well with less budget. Now that we are in a economic crunch, I think to save more is the key to survive this crisis. I sometimes buy small stuff that when it adds up turns into huge spending. I usually go to the stores after work and end up buying stuff that I don’t really need. This year, I’ll plan my trips to the stores to be able to stick with my weekly budget.
2. Living well with less clutter. Yes like you, I accumulated too many stuff that needs to be disposed or be given away. But there are stuff that matters to me and it needs good storage. But sometimes, I am clueless how to properly store or recycle my stuff. Hence, I think I’ll have to find ways to declutter and organize my stuff, my home and my workplace. To inspire me and to keep me going, I decided to post topics on ways how to become clutter-free at home or at work. A clutter free space is the first step in achieving good feng shui. So watch out for it soon!
3. Living well with less worry. W.R. Inge said, “Worry is interest paid on trouble before it falls due.” I sometimes worry about something that may or may not happen. But I realized that worrying about something in advance doesn’t help. If its beyond my control, I will just allow events to take its course. Simply be amazed that it work themselves out.
And lastly, 4. Living well with less rudeness. I read a new year’s resolution written by Michael Deacon that says, “2008 saw an increased amount of rudeness…” A plea to make common courtesy rather more common. I agree with this article’s plea of being more polite would make an excellent choice. We only live once, so why not use it to be a blessing to others?
I look forward to this year with positivity. Life can be cruel but we gotta keep going and never lose hope. What’s your new year’s resolution?

Living well with less rudeness yes I think this is a great resolution for all. Including myself when someone cuts in line in front of me. Ah well. I like the living well with less budget. I would like to fit in: a living well with good coffee resolution somewhere into my long list.
Yes Cate, its not easy living well with less rudeness, but posting about this is a good reminder to me whenever I’m about to lose it. Hopefully, this resolution rubs on everybody.
