To all my visitors and readers, I apologize for not posting much the past months. 2009 has been a roller-coaster ride that took my attention and concentration from blogging. I know from previous experience that when you don’t feel like blogging, don’t blog. You will just end up blogging not from the heart.

If 2009 wasn’t a good year for you, cheer up! because according to feng shui experts and astrologers, 2010 year of the Tiger will bring hope to everyone. The Chinese associate Tiger with good fortune, power, and royalty. This is the best year for those who want to open a business or for those looking for employment. Despite the global economic meltdown, like a Tiger we should face obstacles in life fearlessly. Let it not dampen our spirit. Don’t let depression beat us.

But  are you ready to say goodbye to 2009?  I am.  So here’s a “ritual” you can do to drive away “negative energies” and start good in the year of the Tiger. The purpose of the “ritual” is to let go the “negative energies” in your life. To start the “ritual,” you’ll need a paper and pen or pencil. Fold the paper in three columns.

1. First column, write all the negative things, events, etc. that happened to you in 2009.

2. Second column, write all the negative attitude that you don’t like about you.

3. Third column, write all your “hatred”, “frustrations” and “fears”.

4.  When you’re finished making the list, say these words, “I am letting go all the negative energies in my life. I am ready to move forward and start a new life.”

Now…set fire to it! Light a match and BURN IT! Let all those negative energies turn into ashes.  Just make sure you burn your list somewhere safe. We don’t want you homeless in 2010. :D

The burning of your “negative list” symbolizes that you are willing to change for the better. Hence, negative energies have no place in your life. Let’s all try to think  positive all throughout 2010 and beyond. I think positive attitude plus positive outlook in life is the key to a successful and happy life. Happy New Year everyone!

Now that we know the different directions in feng shui, its time to find the most auspicious and advantageous working area to apply feng shui, specifically our desk and chair and/or working area. In doing this, it is believed in feng shui that you will have a better working condition and will help you achieve your goals.

“The desk position aligns you with the underlying flow of chi in the room. But the direction you face while sitting at it has the greatest influence.”

Here are the most advantageous position for your working area whether it’s just a small space or a spacious room:

Sitting NW, facing SE – this position enhances leadership, organization, responsibility as well as dignity and trustworthiness. Facing SE is helpful for expansion, creativity and communication.

Sitting NE, Facing E – this position is useful for someone lacking drive, or looking for new direction. It is particularly suitable for people dealing in real estate.

Sitting E, facing E – the chi in this position is even more intense, favoring quick starts and fast growth. This is excellent for anyone starting a new career or business, particularly in the computer or electronics industry.

Sitting E, facing SE – this position is similar to E facing E, but the atmosphere is less intense, bringing out qualities conducive to communication, creativity and harmonious development. People working in the media or travel business are likely to find this supportive.

Sitting E, facing S – this position is active, busy and helpful for putting ideas into practice. It is also supportive of public recognition and promotion, so would suit someone in PR, sales and advertising. But his is not a good position if you feel restless and find it difficult to concentrate.

Sitting SE, facing E – this position is similar to sitting in E facing SE, only the relative importance of the directions is reversed. The location of the desk determines the underlying chi energy present. But the direction you face has the greatest influence, so the E is dominant.

Sitting SE, facing S – this combination of energies is ideal for people working in PR, marketing or any activity that involves communication. It is also good for lawyers. The chi energy here is very active, so is not advisable for someone who becomes easily stressed or excited.

Sitting W, facing E – in the W position, you are immersed in the chi energy related to income, contentment and pleasure. Facing E helps you to become more ambitious, active and better able to put your ideas into practice. It is particularly helpful for people working in finance.

If you noticed the common auspicious position for the desk and chair/working area is either facing East or South, where the sun shines. Helping you to take advantage of feng shui ways to achieve your goals. I positioned my desk and chair/working area sitting E, facing E for the fast growth of my blog. I think it won’t hurt if you’ll try some of these advantageous position. Based on my personal experience, I can say that my blog’s traffic went up and I now have 58 subscribers. Try it and see the difference!

My pick for the best [...]]]> The Chinese New Year may be over, but it is never too late if you want to attract good luck in your life. This is the beauty in using feng shui,  you can start whenever you’re ready. The more you open yourself to its positivity, you will reap its rewards. My pick for the best feng shui tips for good luck was taken from the TV show I watched in the eve of the Chinese New Year, the title of the show is “Ang Pinaka” (meaning an affix to adjectives expressing superlative degree of the quality). They invited Filipino feng shui experts namely Master Aldric Dalumpines, Master Tony Suvega and Maricel Gaskell. They feautured 10 most effective feng shui tips for good luck, but I will only post 5 of the feng shui tips I have tried myself and found effective.

So here’s my list:

1. Golden Money frog

I got my golden money frog as a gift from a friend. I wasn’t into feng shui that time, but when she gave me the money frog she instructed me to place it facing our main entrance door to attract good luck, specifically to welcome wealth and prosperity. I did what she advised me to do and I felt that the flow of money last year was good compared to the previous years. It is believed that the same way a toad captures his food is the same way it will help you capture wealth.

2. Ang Pow and gold chinese coins

The ang pow with gold chinese coins inside it is my favorite. It’s the reason why I got interested in feng shui. I bought gold chinese coins in a feng shui store for good luck. Antique coins in China had a square hole in the center, through which the yin energy can pass through. The round shape of the coin correspond to the yang energy. Different feng shui applications using coins proved to be lucky. I should know, it worked for me! When I purchased my gold chinese coins, they placed the coins in a quartz singing bowl and use a wooden beater “to activate” its energy. They wrapped my coins in a bill with number “8″ in the serial numbers. I put it in my wallet and ever since, I felt a slight change that money comes easily and it stays.

3. Jade Plant/Money Plant to enhance wealth luck

The jade plant’s fleshy and round leaves like coins made it the popular symbol of wealth and prosperity in feng shui. They said that it takes 10 years for a jade plant to produce flowers and under specific conditions. It is believed that when the flowers of the jade plant blooms, money will begin to flow into the house. The best part is, this plant is sturdy and you can grow it inside your house. Nothing beats having real plants at home.

4.  Using Mirrors for the “Doubling effect”

Mirrors have been widely used as one of the feng shui remedies. The proper way of placing mirrors at home or at work create wonders and misfortune at the same time if improperly positioned. But since we’re talking about attracting good luck, placing a mirror reflecting your dining table in a sense doubles the food in the table. If you noticed, some businesses surround their restaurants or fast food chains with mirrors to create the same thing, to double the customers and sales. There are also some businesses that have a mirror reflecting the cash register in the hope that each bill received or already in the cash register will be doubled.

5. Crystals

The facets of a crystal create a reflecting surface like a small mirror, hence it is ideal to influence the chi energy.  The crystal that I chose was red “”drop” crystal that will help me become known in the www (dreaming is free). Its for good luck to achieve fame.  Its also a good decorative piece when you place different crystals in a glass bowl. Choose the color of the crystal that you like to enhance in your life.

Like any other guides, these are just feng shui suggestions. In the end when you work hard you will achieve the things you aspire for this year.

But sometimes, we experience problems at work like super demanding employers, uncooperative co-workers, back stabbing, gossiping and many more that going to work everyday is like a dreaded ordeal. I had my share of the above and I sometimes want to quit and just walk away. But I didn’t. I always think that I was hired by this company and I will see this through in the end. I was ready to try anything. But when I read that Feng Shui has something to improve this problem area in my career. I was optimistic. The Amethyst Gem Tree is a Feng Shui auspicious symbol in improving harmonious relationships.

An amethyst gem tree is also known as (stone of contentment), it enhances harmonious relationship with your employers and co-workers by helping eradicate the formation of negative energy and misunderstandings in the workplace. Place an amethyst gem tree in your desk at work and see the improvement of your relationship with your boss, co-workers or subordinates.
