Or hate getting dirty and look drab? The fab find of the week might inspire you to start planting trees. The Koi Tattoo boots from Chooka is actually rain boots, but why wait for rain when you can use it everyday and still look fab for only $34.95. Last night, I watched a docu entitled, “Gardening Confidentials,”  watching it made me feel so eager to start gardening than before (not to mention owning the fab Koi tattoo boots). In Feng Shui, Koi’s are lucky symbols of abundance. The docu featured awesome gardens from US, UK and Canada. It gave me so many ideas on what to do when the time comes I start my very own garden. Due to limited space (that’s what you get living in the city) I only have a few plants on pots. But I don’t despair because one day I might even garden in Mars. :D Scientists by the way are researching now how plants can grow in Mars. But I guess I’m in a dreamy state (must be too much coffee), maintaining a garden is easier said than done. When leggings came back in fashion, I was 100% sure I have nothing to do with leggings. But let’s admit that second to jeans, leggings have been one of the most comfy wear for everyday use. You can just wear a nice sexy shirt and leggings, you’re all set. But nowadays, I see women get away with wearing super mini skirt or very skimpy shorts with the help of good-old leggings. I swear I love bags! Whenever I go to the mall or surf the net, I always look for bags.  I am not really looking for a specific brand, just any bag that captures my fancy. I am currently sporting a pink shoulder bag at work. But lately, I fancy a red leather bag. I never had red bags because at first I thought red bags can’t go with certain outfits, but now, I see more and more women use red bags to match their outfits without looking drab. The red leather bag from Latico is a fab find not just for its style but its also affordable. In Feng Shui, red is considered a dominant color that brings strong energy to a person. Too much red is  considered not good though. Hence, balance it with other colors like  the bags I found at eBags! As they say, bags can make or break one’s outfit.

I am officially addicted to foot spa! I consider my feet very delicate and intimate so I never go to a salon for a pedicure. I do my own pedicure and manicure.  But because a friend talks so much about how good having  a foot spa feels, I decided to try it one day. And whoa! Its one of the best relaxing and feel-good pampering of oneself. After my foot spa, my feet is more delicate than ever and I felt like my whole being was refreshed. I now do believe that some toxins or stress in our body can be removed by way of relaxing and massaging our feet. To make sure I have a weekly foot spa without breaking the bank, I purchased my own home spa that consists of the following: a foot massage spa, pumice stone to soften calluses and rough skin, nail brush, foot soak, foot scrub (I love the ones with peppermint), foot spray and finish off with foot balm.

But I think foot spa will revolutionize itself. I heard so much about people going ga-ga over some foot spa that uses fish as live foot scrubber/sucker of dead skins? Sounds icky but many swore its so effective.  So where does this school of fish came from? These fishes are originally from Northern and Central Middle East. The species are called Garra rufa and Cyprinion macrostomus. These fishes have so many nicknames, “Doctor Fish”, “nibble fish”, “sucker fish”, etc. The name “Doctor Fish” is popular because it says that these fishes can cure skin diseases like psoriasis. There have been a lot of fish spa in Asia and now starting in the US. I think I will try one soon for the experience of it. I swear I am very ticklish but having a fish spa will take me to the next level. You can watch these fishes in action here.

8. Day Dress – Women also are not wearing as many dresses anymore. It was certainly liberating to go from the ’50s when women wore dresses every day to wearing more practical pants for gardening, exercising, and so forth. But the dress does not have to be abandoned altogether. They can be very flattering, and there is nothing wrong with “dressing up” for daytime.

9. Blazer - The blazer sounds very masculine, but when you get the right one with a proper shape it is not. Women’s blazers should follow the silhouette of a woman’s body and accent the hourglass curve at her waist. It is also a perfect piece to put with the skirt or dress pants, and white shirt. Or make it casual with a pair of jeans.

10. Sweatsuit alternative – As mentioned before, women wear fewer skirts and dresses these days. But some women have taken casual to the extreme and spend days on end in sweat suits. It is possible to be casual and comfortable without looking like a slob. Find a comfortable material (that’s why this doesn’t say jeans again – denim is not as comfortable as a nice soft cotton) that you would want to wear every day. It could be khakis, cords, a cotton dress, or much more.

And I can blog, blog, blog. :D Waking up early and staying late at work for 2 weeks now to finish an urgent assignment made me feel really old and unfashionable. I felt like I had a nest on top of my hair that I haven’t had time to even comb my hair. I longed for luxurious baths using relaxing scented shower gels (with lotsa bubbles), apply moisturizer on my face, apply Victoria’s Secret lotion all over my body, get enough sleep and rest. During those rush days, the beauty survival that I do to make me feel “fabulous” is spraying Bath and Body Works Body Splash spray cologne “Sweet Pea” scent. Thank God I have a good source of these beauty products. Life is not so bad despite my salary have not increased. (sigh)

Seriously, I think I am the most unfashionable person in the whole world. I am clueless about fashion. I just wear anything comfortable for the day. To give you an idea of how dreadful I am about fashion, I just took Tim Gunn’s quiz in his website and I scored 3/6, which means I need help from Tim. Tim Gunn is on of the guru in the “Project Runway” reality show. Hayyy.. I would love to be in his TV show “Tim Gunn’s Style Guide” and have a make-over. Promise I won’t cry or be upset if he took away all my wardrobe. :D As long as he will help me go shopping to have a new set of wardrobe. Tim “advised” me in the quiz to find fashion style icons and translate it as my own. Easier said than done. You can take Tim Gunn’s style quiz here.

FabSugar featured a fashion style icon in Eva Longoria. “Cruising along in her Juicy Couture dress and Yves Saint Laurent Tribute sandals, the striped belt really helped break up the matchy crochet dress and bag.” I’ve come to like Eva at the TV Series the “Desperate Housewives”, I was hooked watching it until it went off the air for a while when the writer’s went on strike. Eva definitely rocks with style!

But I like to be fashionable without having a style icon. I think one can still be fashionable even wearing unbranded clothes. I just need to know the basics – my body size, body shape, my best body features (which is I think my small waist and my full hips) and a little bit of confidence to wear clothes that I’ve never wore before without looking that I’ve tried too hard. Oh well I guess, as long as mickey mouse finds me lovely, I think I won’t go wrong. But still any woman wants to look pretty to her man. ;)
